WaterMate Greywater Recycling Unit
What is the WaterMate?
The WaterMate Greywater Recycling Unit is a simple, effective way to recycle greywater, helping you save money while conserving water resources. By reusing water from your shower, bath, basins, and washing machine, you can cut down your overall water consumption, lower your monthly bills, and reduce pressure on your septic system (if you have one).
How does it work?
WaterMate filters your greywater through a set of filter mats, removing hair, lint, and other debris, so it’s suitable for watering trees, shrubs, or flower gardens. Please note: this unit only filters the water — it does not disinfect or “clean” it.
If you plan to use WaterMate as part of a consented greywater system, we’ll need to review your consent application to ensure you’re supplied with the correct items.
Sizes available:
- The regular WaterMate is ideal for small homes or tiny homes with up to 2 showers and a washing machine.
- For larger homes, check out our Large WaterMate.
How does it water plants?
Simply connect our greywater irrigation kit to send the filtered water to an irrigation field where it can feed your plants, shrubs, or trees. (Please note: greywater should not be used on vegetables, fruit trees, or any edible plants, as it may contain bacteria.)
Kitchen connection?
Yes! By adding a grease trap, you can also connect your kitchen sink. This removes fats, oils, grease, and food scraps before the water enters your WaterMate for filtration.
The benefits of WaterMate:
- Save money and water by reusing greywater.
- Protect your septic system by diverting greywater away from it.
- Use water twice and return it naturally to the environment.
